PRIVACY POLICY · PROTOTYPE · UPDATED 8 OCTOBER 2026

Your account.
Your galleries.

How we use your information

Your Gallerum account is independent of Meta. We use your email for sign-in, verification and account recovery. Your name and the information you provide are included in your profile. We use an internal Gallerum ID for gallery ownership, access and moderation — not your email as a gallery ID.

Your password is handled by our Keycloak sign-in service on the Gallerum server. The app receives access permissions, not your password. Quest can store a protected sign-in session until you sign out or remain inactive for an extended period.

Private galleries and sharing

In the gallery builder, photos and drafts stay in your browser until you choose to upload them. Uploaded account galleries are stored encrypted in cloud storage. Access to decryption is controlled by the Gallerum server. Creating an account does not make your galleries public; private sharing requires your choice. Recipients can open the content, and encryption cannot prevent screenshots or all external copies.

The server records gallery metadata, ownership, access, recalls and the app's removal confirmations. A recall requires contact with the headset; an offline permission already issued can remain valid for up to 24 hours. This does not guarantee deletion of external copies.

Usernames, friends and installed galleries

You choose a unique Gallerum username for friend requests, private sharing and your name in shared rooms. Your internal account ID does not change. Previous usernames remain reserved to help prevent impersonation. We store friend requests, accepted connections and blocks on new friend requests. There is no public list of users' email addresses.

A gallery owner can see which recipients last confirmed an installed or removed copy through the app. Status is combined per account across headsets and shows the time of the latest confirmation, not a live status. Your friends list only shows your own galleries that a friend has confirmed as installed — never the friend's other galleries or viewing history. Friendship does not automatically grant gallery access. Removing a friend or blocking friend requests does not revoke access to galleries already shared; that access is managed separately.

Operation and security

The account system runs with a server hosting provider. Cloud storage is used for gallery files, and our support email service is used for account emails. Contact support@gallerum.art for current provider names and further information about hosting and data handling.

To protect registration, account-creation attempts are limited per IP address and overall. These counts are held briefly in memory and do not store form contents. The sign-in system records security events and administrative actions. Account data and backups are used for operation and recovery; we cannot promise immediate deletion of backups following a request.

Reports and your access

Reports and moderator decisions are handled on the server. A user restriction applies to shared rooms, new sharing and publishing; solo, demos, your own data, recalls and support remain available. A gallery is recalled through a separate decision. New accounts do not receive moderator or administrator permissions.

Contact and deletion

Responsible for Gallerum: Torben Tanggaard, Denmark. Contact support@gallerum.art about your account, access, corrections or deletion. Privacy questions can also be sent to torben@gallerum.art. We handle requests and respond within one month. Account and gallery deletion may require clarification of ownership, security matters or moderation cases; we explain the scope before promising deletion.

This is a prototype, not a finished public service. Solo and demos can be used without an account. Meta separately handles distribution and information on its own platform.
